Santa Fe' Island, Galapagos, Ecuador.

Arrived in Santa Fe' Island in time for another lovely lunch. This sheltered bay is absolutely beautiful. Crystal clear waters surrounded by sandy beaches, rocks and vegetation. This is our next location for snorkelling and the beaches are covered in sea lions which is a promising start. Our little dinghy drops us off near the breakers and we begin the steady fin around the bay but it is taking time as there's so much to see. I'm following a rocky outcrop covered in sea lions and their young. They are full of fun and constantly chasing each other at breakneck speed to within feet of you. Twisting, turning, swerving, it's incredible to watch, then suddenly a white tipped shark flies past within inches of me being chased by three sea lions. Camera in hand I completely missed the shot.Completely dumbstruck we continued the dive, the next shout going up alerting us to a turtle on the sea bed. Duck diving constantly to about 20 ft was taking its toll and was tiring but it was so amazing I couldn't stop. Next a white tipped reef shark resting on the sea bed, eagle and golden rays, another turtle gently swimming 4 foot from the surface it just got better. After 1 1/4 hours and pleasantly shattered we returned to the boat for coffee and dough balls with a honey dip, superb. After lunch and a siesta we headed back to the beach for a wet landing and a trek covering the two main beaches inhabited by sea lions. It was fascinating and I have a lot of hard work ahead of me editing photographs. What another fantastic day followed by dinner and a sit at the very front of the boat, sea breeze in your face dreaming the night away motoring onto your next location.
