The Long Road South !

On the road again, finally managing to get all the equipment to Puerto Madryn bus station and picking up a coach, not as plush as the first, heading South on an 18 hr slog, 3hrs wait at Rio Gallegos Bus station and a connecting coach to El Cafalate.

Twenty six hours later and twelve flea bites we find ourselves at the Marco Polo suites, a nice surprise. The rooms are lovely, big, clean and airy with a lovely bath come shower room. What more could you want......SLEEP at last.

This section of the blog is a bit boring so I'll use it to update and clarify a few issues and include a couple of worthy pictures from previous events. The mileage covering our trip around South America  will total approximately 35,000 km in a purpose built wagon, Volvo eight wheel independent steered vehicle which I hasten to add has now arrived on dry land, but getting the papers signed off is another matter. We move off tomorrow so it will be a game of catch up, well I suppose there's plenty of  time.

Just before I left, my lovely wife gave me a travelling companion a blooming cat which now gets photographed in the most unusual places. It's name is cono' cat, say no more, look it up :) apparently it means pussy in spanish hence "pussy cat" needless to say the rest of the team think I'm a bit light under the cap...who can blame them, thanks Lu.

The locals in Argentina drink an infusion called Mate' and they all have their individual Mate' pots, some of which are beautifully decorated with silver with ornate silver straws. They place a concoction of herbs within and pour over hot but not boiling water and slurp the result through the straw. Had a go at this after diving and it was quite good, probably an acquired taste.

This shot deserves a posting, it's another one from the polo in Buenos Aires, I think the horses face is fantastic.

A really cute owl sat on a post.

Dolphins chasing the boat en route to the Southern Right Whales.

Patagonia is a place I have always dreamed of going to, it's been a sort of magical place that until now has been out of reach. I hope to continue to show you why it is so wonderful. I am studying photography as I go in the hope of improving my skills and delivering top quality pictures. Had a result the other day as they have used some of my pictures for the overland blog. Happy days.
Until the next time, chao
Tony.
